Short Term Journalist Writer / Volunteer
SFH is looking for a short-term and volunteer journalist, writer or storyteller based in or around Nairobi Kenya who can help us document the stories of impact of the students who have received scholarships from our program. Writers with photography skills are an added plus!
Description of Assignment:
- Conduct interviews with graduates and current students of SFH Scholarship Fund for human-interest style stories documenting impact of programs on their lives. This will require short-distance travel within Nairobi and its environs.
- Consolidate interviews and field visits into edited stories for use in SFH reports, print, website and other social media
Length of Assignment: Flexible up to on month, depending on availability and skill level of volunteer
Support provided: SFH will support logistical arrangements to contact and organize student meetings and costs for the volunteer for transportation to students homes or schools.
Assignment Type: This is a volunteer assignment, SFH can and will provide a letter of recommendation at the close of the assignment and reference on the website for promotion of the individual’s work or corporate affiliations in lieu of traditional compensation.

Video Editor / Volunteer
SFH is looking for a short-term and volunteer video editor, based in or around Nairobi Kenya interested in giving back to a great charitable cause by creating two short videos out of raw-footage of our projects and beneficiaries to be used by our organizations communications and social media.
Description of Assignment:
- Review raw footage, meet with SFH staff to discuss vision of final product in line with the style of previous video work
- Develop two short videos (not exceeding 10 minutes) one on our Scholarship Fund and the second on a new project serving AIDS orphans in Eastern Kenya.
Length of Assignment: Flexible up to on month, depending on availability and skill level of volunteer
Technical Requirements: Experienced video-editor or media specialist with access to computer and software needed to complete the assignment. SFH will provide raw footage in electronic format for use.
