David Mbugua | Lead Social Worker & Trustee
David has been part of SFH for the past 3 years. Having done a Diploma in Social Work and currently starting his Bachelors Degree in the same at Daystar University in Nairobi, David is the lead on all field work and monitoring. He is our expert on identifying and managing social issues as they arise at the household level with the families in our program. David also sits on the Board of Trustees for SFH Kenya, our locally registered operational entity Kenya.
He has been personally committed to serving others and outside of his work with SFH, he is a leader in his church’s mission. David likes playing soccer and having time with the youths to talk about issues affecting the youths. His vision for Seeds For Hope is to see it become a sustainable organization promoting full educational support to even more boys and girls from humbled backgrounds.
Grace Attwa | Vice-Chair & Trustee
Grace Attwa has been a volunteer with SFH since 2005. Grace has a wide experience in the Human Resources, has worked with GOAL Ireland Kenya, an international humanitarian organization aimed at eradicating poverty by empowering the youth through vocational trainings, HIV/AIDS Street Education and rescuing abused children. Before joining GOAL, Grace worked at the Coptic Hospital for nine years altogether growing in the field of HR through taking courses in HR Management and Business management some of which were sponsored by SFH. She has returned to the Hospital where she is the HR Manager. She is currently pursuing her B.S. Degree in Business Administration Majoring in Human Recourses. Grace also serves the teacher for the secondary class in the Coptic Orthodox Church. Grace’s passion for empowering youth especially girls started since 2002 when she was working as a volunteer with an Scottish organization called Seed of Hope Centre a vocational training centre that caters for orphaned and less privileged girls (coincidence) where she mentored teenage girls. She is very happy to join SFH in supporting this very noble act of providing educational support to youths as Education is the number one weapon for eradicating poverty.
Monicah Gatonye | Board Member
Monicah holds a Degree in Business Management – Human Resource Management option, Advanced Diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management, Full secretarial studies, IT Packages and over 7 years progressive experience in Administration and Communications, Finance, Logistics & Procurement and Human Resources. At the moment, she is serving as the Regional Program Support Officer at Australian Red Cross.
Before joining Australian Red Cross, she served at GOAL Ireland – Kenya programme as the Human Resources/Administrative Officer in the Children, Youth, Water & Sanitation, HIV & AIDS, Emergency and
Partnership Programmes where she ensured smooth operation of the HR and Administration function.
Among all her skills, Monicah brings organization, good communication skills, organizational knowledge and problem solving skills to SFH skills.
Nadia Kist | Board Chairman
Nadia Kist is the Founder and Chairman of SFH. She holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a specialization in International non-profit management as well as a dual Bachelor or Arts in African Studies and Politics, all from New York University. She is a seasoned public health professional with nearly 10 years experience developing and managing HIV/AIDS and community health programs in East Africa. Working with some of the most reputable organizations in health and development, including AED, ICF International, Trickle Up and World Vision, she has made innovative and published contributions to the HIV/AIDS response in Kenya. She has traveled extensively to share insight and outcomes from her various work experiences in HIV and development to international conferences and consultations including the International AIDS Conferences, US Department of State, and Windsor Castle.
In May 2012, Nadia transitioned to the position of Executive Director, SFH Kenya full time to take SFH and its proven model of youth development to the next level! She brings to SFH a deep understanding of the socio-economic and cultural context linked to development challenges for underserved communities in the region. Nadia believes that this work is her destiny as her name also means Hope. She speaks Swahili and has a personal dream to visit all 54 countries in Africa at some point in her life (She has already been to 11!).
Paul Kist | Vice-Chair & Board Secretary
Paul Kist is on a mission. The mission takes different forms and different shapes, but overall, his mission is to empower those he comes into contact with, while creating something interesting. Empowerment, and Creation: this is his life’s mission and is often finding different ways and modes of doing so. Today, Paul spends most of his time as a Software Engineer in San Francisco, and learning about the ins and outs of growing a business.
Paul is usually is off doing something interesting. Many years ago one of those interesting things was buying a one-way ticket to Nairobi. During his time there, he was challenged by the lives he saw there that were changed by mutual respect, and empowerment. Paul has since become a strong advocate for Seeds For Hope, using his photography and storytelling abilities, to make others around the world aware of the human experience happening in the places Seeds For Hope is working, and the impact this organization is having on people in East Africa.
Paul has also been known to dabble in music.

Charity Ndwiga | Assistant Social Worker
Charity Ndwiga has been part of Seeds for Hope for the last one year. Her passion of working with the less advantaged drew her to working with us. Charity is currently pursuing her degree in development studies at Daystar University and at the same time exercising her learnt skills with us. Her role has been going out to pay school fees and conducting follow ups concerning students’ performance. Charity likes travelling and socializing, with this she hopes to be of great impact to the girls in our program.
Charity anticipates seeing a stable Seeds for Hope with reliable and consistent flow of funds to facilitate its functioning and sustainability. This will help in increasing the number of the beneficiaries and seeing them through to the point of achieving their dreams which goes in handy with the vision and mission of the program.
Junae Ndolo | Field Worker & Mentor
Junae Ndolo is an ICT officer working for one of the largest HIV centers in Africa. With A Diploma in Information Technology and the vast experience at Coptic Hospital
Hope center for infectious Diseases, Junae has lots of understanding of the Computer technology world and also has experience in learning and excelling at new technologies as needed. Junae is also an Actor who has done shows like ‘the Agency’’ Higher Learning and Changes in local television. Junae is volunteering with SFH because he wants to bring in his experience to these kids lives.
